Unforgettable for me was the experience of discovering Copenhagen through the eyes of a person living here rather than a traveller.
We, me and another intern, who was also from Germany had this rare opportunity when our office encouraged us to take part in a competition. The Copenhagen Architecture Festival – CAFx had put out a brief for anyone to create a video (<1 minute) about Copenhagen. We did a complete tour of the city center and nearby areas that included many gems that a normal tourist might overlook in his rush to see what makes Copenhagen, Copenhagen. But, in fact, through our journey we realized that we always see only the face of a city, the heart is hidden and we need to walk through places that are more unfamiliar to come across spaces that we love and not what the touristic labels as ´must see´. This picture was taken by my colleague during this trip, against the backdrop of one of the many lakes in central Copenhagen.
