Compulsory language test
All interns with one of the working language (s) mentioned above must take a compulsory online language test BEFORE the internship. You will receive a result (rating A1 to C2) for your own information that has NO influence on your scholarship.
Exception: native speakers (e.g. Germans in Austria).
Taking the language tests (in time!) is a requirement for the Erasmus grant. Be careful not to miss the deadline given in the email. If you do not receive the email in good time before the internship begins, check the spam folder.
Optional language course
After taking the compulsory language test, you will then receive a license for an online language course. The language course includes topics related to everyday life and the work environment, pronunciation exercises, news videos, grammar exercises, dictation and listening exercises as well as live coaching modules.
The language course is usually taken in the same language as the language test, but can also be done in another language if desired.
In which language can I use OLS?
Working languages, native languages of target country
The language test should be carried out in the working language of the internship. The receiving institution specifies the working languages, which are used during the internship in the Learning Agreement. If you have several working languages, you can choose in which language you would like to take the language test. You are supposed to state this in the application form. When issuing licenses, we follow your specifications.
The language course you can choose more freely and, alternatively, conduct it in one or more languages of the target country. Example: internship in Belgium. Working language English, language test in English; Language course (s) in English, French and / or Dutch possible.
As a matter of principle, native speakers do not have to take a language test in their native language. But: without a language test you cannot you won´t have access to an OLS language course.
